Five centuries ago, Christopher Columbus stumbled across a gem in the Caribbean sea. Au Reve takes its architectural cues from St Barts tradition, with an open-plan design, natural wood sculpted into vaulted ceilings, and an effortless flow between indoors and outdoors. The living room has a bohemian atmosphere and opens onto the terrace, allowing the Trade Winds to blow through every room and cool the interior. The kitchen is superbly appointed, with everything your chef needs to create authentic Creole dishes spiced up with hot sauce and bold, fiery flavours. You can tuck into fried red snapper and plantain in the dining room or go al fresco. There are plenty of opportunities to soothe tired muscles, thanks to the Hammam, or keep up with your workout in the fitness room. The villa’s four bedrooms are split between the main and lower levels. All have king-size beds and ensuite bathrooms, as well as ocean or garden views.
Dominating the terrace is a large heated infinity pool. But even that pales against the sheer splendour of the views from every aspect. Au Reve invites you to discover the true ethos of Caribbean living with a little extra opulence thrown in.
