From the Caribbean’s most protected coral reefs to beachfront restaurants, opulent Grand Cayman villas and a laid-back, rum punch lifestyle, Grand Cayman is a delight. The pride of Grand Cayman has to be Seven Mile Beach to the west of George Town. It is regarded as one of the finest beaches on the planet and is the backdrop for countless tropical photoshoots. If you’re thinking of a perfect Caribbean beach with deep white sand, a blue ocean and swaying palm trees, you’re probably thinking of Seven Mile Beach.

Grand Cayman has a rich history filled with pirates and buccaneers. However, today, you’re more likely to cross paths with conservationists on their way to the famous Stingray City, where you can meet these giants of the ocean up close. Water sports are huge on the island, with exceptional diving and snorkelling on offer all around the shoreline. With an array of restaurants serving the freshest fish and seafood, and a plentiful supply of rum punches, staying at one of our luxury Grand Cayman vacation rentals will be every bit as relaxing and indulgent as you dream.
Home to some of the most exclusive villas in Grand Cayman, this charming and exclusive part of the island is the very epitome of paradise perfection. This secluded beach is kissed by a turquoise ocean and backs onto a blue lagoon. Cayman Kai is one of the best places on the island for diving, snorkelling and water sports. Here, Cayman villas look out onto the ultimate beachfront scene, and this is the best place to witness the majesty of a Caribbean sunset in all its glory. Cayman Kai is a warm, welcoming destination all year round.
Sitting on the north side of the island, this sheltered bay was once the haunt of pirates, smugglers and buccaneers, which explains the name. Today, it’s home to exclusive restaurants and some of the best luxury villas on Grand Cayman. There are plenty of attractions to explore, and a must-visit is the Cayman Spirits Co. Distillery, where the island’s potent rum is made. For a more tranquil experience, a visit to Smith Cove helps you escape the hustle and bustle of the busier areas and lets you explore the beauty of the north shore in peace.
“In my opinion, Grand Cayman is home to the most spectacular beach in the world: Seven Mile Beach. This is truly seven miles of pure bliss surrounded by deep white sand, transparent waters and palm trees swaying in the ocean breeze. There’s no other place I’d rather spend an afternoon.”
Please note: these are the average temperatures reported but can vary greatly due to weather conditions, such as heat waves etc. We kindly invite you to contact us for more information, including confirmation that your chosen villa has air conditioning, to ensure a comfortable stay.
During spring: spring in Grand Cayman sees you enjoying the still blue waters, glorious sunshine, and temperatures of around 25°C (78°F). The spring school holidays also signal the start of the island’s calendar of festivals, including kite flying and all the festivities of Easter. During these months, the island’s attractions really open up, making spring in Grand Cayman a family-friendly time.
During summer: the hottest months start in May and run through the summer, with the daytime temperatures often hitting around 32°C (90°F). The island’s biggest festival, Batabano, takes place in early May and then the island settles in for the summer season, where the best place to be is on Seven Mile Beach with a cool onshore breeze and warm waters to swim in.
During autumn: this is the best time of the year for diving and swimming, as the water is at its warmest. There are plenty of events for all the family, including Pirate Week, Restaurant Month, when you can sample some of the best food on the island, and Cocktail Week, which, for an island with a long association with rum, is pretty self-explanatory. The weather starts to cool a little, but the days are still sunny and there is very little chance of catching a shower.
During winter: if you want to escape the rain at home, winter is the best time to visit the Cayman Islands. Our villas and vacation rentals in Grand Cayman are popular at this time of the year for those who wish to celebrate the festive season on the beach, relaxing under a blue Caribbean sky. During the evenings from December through to March, a cool prevailing wind can drop the temperature down to around 15°C (59°F).
Make the journey as memorable as the arrival. Your dedicated concierge can arrange transportation from the closest airport to your Grand Cayman villa.
The island’s airport, Owen Roberts International Airport, is located close to the capital George Town and accepts both commercial flights and private charters.
Grand Cayman is a major cruise port but do bear in mind that there are no mooring facilities at George Town harbour, although some exclusive Grand Cayman Villas may have private mooring if you wish to hire a yacht or speedboat.
The island is large enough to warrant hiring a car to get around. Car hire is available at the airport or can be arranged by your concierge. As Grand Cayman is a UK territory, you drive on the left and not the right.
