Barbados is big enough for you to go off the beaten track. A leisurely trip down one of the island’s country lanes will take you into the interior, where you’ll see green monkeys watching your every move from the treetops. The island’s interior is incredibly verdant, and you’ll discover real gems such as Hunte’s Gardens. Listen to classical piano music while wandering through a garden filled with flowers and hummingbirds. Cool off with some ginger lemonade, and then explore some more. Barbados is known for its crafts, especially pottery. Earthworks is the place to go, where you’ll find pots glazed in shades of brilliant sunshine yellow and sea blues, representing the beauty of island life in all its glory.

During spring: March and April are peak season months in Barbados, so expect crowds in the tourist hot spots. From April-June there is very little chance of encountering bad weather, and the temperatures sit at around 75°F (23°C).
During summer: the Trade Winds keep the temperatures from climbing too high during the summer, but expect the odd rain shower during the day. From June onwards the temperature sits at around 75-85°F (23-29°C). This is festival time, so get your dancing shoes on.
During autumn: during October and November, the rainfall and humidity go up, but the crowds go down. This is the best time for diving and swimming in the sea, with water temperatures of around 84-95°F (28-35°C).
During winter: don’t be fooled by the word ‘winter’. This is actually peak season in Barbados, with balmy temperatures in the 80s°F or mid-20s°C and plenty of sunshine. There are plenty of festivals to keep you dancing, or discover some regional specialities in the many food and drink events held during the winter.
