While it may be the leading centre for the cruise ship trade, it's also full of unusual things to see and do, such as the 'Mystic Mountain' attraction celebrating the legendary Jamaican bobsleigh team and the nearby Dunn's Falls. This is a town where you can stroll along the leafy beauty of Fern Gully and then stop off at an exclusive restaurant for some authentic local cuisine. The beaches are, of course, exceptional, but it’s worth hiring a car and travelling a little further along the coast to find a little slice of Jamaican peace and tranquillity.

Every space is different, from romantic dining under the stars to languid living areas that encourage you to relax and socialise. The kitchen is the domain of your personal chef, who will rustle up delicious food and drinks for guests throughout the day and into the evening. A butler ensures your drinks are served perfectly chilled while two housekeepers take care of the day-to-day running of the house.

The villa’s five bedrooms each have a different theme. The Bombay suite has a king-size bed and walk-in shower, while the Zanzibar has two queen beds and a bespoke soak tub in the ensuite. On the lower floor, the Fez suite has two queen beds, Siam has a cosy king-size bed, and Djenne has a queen-size bed. Each room has décor focused on the region it is named after, giving the villa a boutique feel.

Outside, a large infinity pool seems to melt seamlessly into the Caribbean Sea, and steps lead down to a jetty where you can snorkel in the calm sea. The area is also renowned for diving, and as it sits between two aquatic sanctuaries, the waters are filled with colourful marine life, including turtles and dolphins.
